The location was good, close the train station.

The clean factor was about average.

The facilities were again average. A bed with a shared bathroom within the room, which was nice. There were lockers available, not that big. The showers were pretty good, with plenty of power.

The common area is quite big, with a pool table, pc's, couches, a bar, and a piano, if you want to show off your skills. Yes, all this is one common room.

There is also a second bar on the second floor I believe and there are outside tables to hang out at.

The only issue I had with this hostel was the lack of laundry service. They give you a flyer to the nearest laundromat, and while it's not the end of the world, it is inconvenient.

Not a bad place to stay at, but look for a hostel that's better.

I stayed at their Joachimstaler St. location in June/04. It is located across the street from Zoo station, so easy access to everything (S-bahn, U-bahn, trains, etc.) Rooms are clean, nice common room and bar. It does feel a little like a hotel as there are also a lot of single/double rooms available (very large building). There's also a good walking tour that starts across the road and hits all the sights of Berlin.
