This place is probably the best true hostel I have been to in Rome.
The atmosphere is fairly international, the breakfast is all you can eat
(although the orange juice is pretty weird) and it is pretty close to the train
station. The only problem is finding the place.

Make sure you reserve online! We didn't and were kicked out after
one night even though we had called to reserve. Other than that, good location,
decent 'extras' like breakfast, free pizza, movies. Cleanliness was fair.

The Downtown Hostel is not only in one of the most excellent
locations within the city and close to everything--they also have very helpful
friendly staff and the cleanest facilities we encountered in Italy to make this
one of the most enjoyable stops on your vacation.
