This hostel is purely and simply the best hostel u can find!!! We met some funny ppl (so crazy sometimes!) but so nice and friendly that we didnt go anywhere during our holidays in London! Staff is also very nice and helpful. Ok, the rooms aren't very nice but u finally forget it. All in this hostel make u feel good. If u want to have some fun and meet some crazy ppl, go at night in the ITA bar. The drinks r very cheap (2£ ??!!!) If u dunno wat to do, go in the TV room ^^ !! Our best holidays and thx to astor's Hyde Park hostel and ppl inside! WE'LL BE BACK!!!

Stayed in 8 or 9 places on my trip through England and France and this was definitely the best one. We met the most people here and this one was the most fun by far. I was also impressed with the staff. Compared to most other hostels I stayed in they were the most on the ball. They knew who was staying in what room and kept a close eye on things.

I'm not sure why everyone is knocking the cleanliness of the place. Sure its not like home where your mom cleaned up after you all the time, but every single day I saw people cleaning the bathrooms and hallways. No its not 4 star hotel clean, but i'd imagine its impossible to keep it spotless when you have dozens of young adults in dorm style rooms every night. They definitely trashed food that was unlabelled (w/out name and date) in the kitchen each day too. Annoying to have your food tossed, but it makes sense that they can't just leave food that people forgot to spoil.

As for the internet connection, it was the second cheapest internet place I found on my trip, but the cheapest was only a block down the road. They had four computers and the only annoying thing was the crappy keyboards, but otherwise not bad.

The one real complaint I have is that it seemed like a game of musical chairs the way they made people switch rooms every night. I swear they could have left everyone in the rooms they were originally assigned and it would have been fine.

Either way, if I go back to London soon, I will stay here again. Some people I met had stayed there for weeks on end, so it couldn't be too bad.

I stayed at this hostel last may, and overall I enjoyed it, but there were a few problems. I booked over the phone, but when I got there the room and price I requested were unavailable. I ended up paying more and not getting quite what I asked for. Also, while I was there someone stole my pasta which was in the kitchen pantry clearly labeled. The rooms were reasonably clean. The washrooms were really basic- toilets in one room, locker room-type showers in another. The location was great and the people there were nice.

This is an OK place to stay. I loved the location, the staff can be hit and miss (like anywhere). The bar downstairs is SO noisy! And I'm not usually too fussy about that, I mean it is a hostel, but it was deafening until 2am. So, it's not terrible, but I'd look elsewhere first.

Well, this hostel was fun to party in and the staff was wonderful. But besides that this place was a pain in the ass and nasty. They made us switch beds about 6 times in 4 nights. Which was a real pain but the room we were in was very nice with a terrace. In some of the rooms there was mice. Also in the common room you might catch sight of one or two. Lots of good travellers come here but if you can find a better place I would. The only good of this place is the location to the Queensway tube stop. I would recommend it but make sure you get a 2nd floor room.
