i decided to leave this review because barbieri was one of my favorites in madrid... great location and very clean.. strong, hot showers. met some cool people to hang out with, as i was travelling alone. also found the staff helpful with info, answers to questions, etc. a great buy if you go to madrid!

The cleanliness of this hostel is what really stood out to us. Great facilities for cooking and relaxing in the lounge. A tip though - the private double room is tiny and very noisy (sound from bathrooms), so it's not really worth it. May as well stay in a dorm room.

One of the better places I've stayed at in Spain. Fully-equipped kitchen, except restroom facilities, and a very friendly staff. There's no curfew, only a 'silence time' after 11 pm. The hostelīs location is great for anything you want to do in Madrid. It is two streets away from Gran Via, a 10 min walk to the Plaza Mayor, 10-15 min walk to the museums, and there are cafes, bars, and stores all around it in the quaint Chueca district.
