Stayed here early October and had a blast. All the staff were real
helpful and buzzing about and the place was pretty much spotless.Mish the
manager was friendly and pointed us in the right directions for tours and
stuff. Highly recommended and if I ever get back to Europe I will definitely
stay here again.

Perfect location. Moldy showers. Big kitchen. Cheap internet (1
pound for 30 minutes). 3 pounds for them to do laundry for you. I didn't see
lockers. Bags are left in the lobby, though you're given a number. TV room
and socializing room. Some people live there for the summer. Great if you
like to hang out with people who like to party.

Review:
Before beginning this rant, I'll say that this hostel
just came under new ownership, so things could improve
in the future. I heard that the new owner plans to clean
things up. That being said, this is the worst hostel I
have ever stayed at. It was raining the day I arrived,
and the rooms smelled like wet, dirty socks. Ventilation
was very poor, and the musty odor did not completely
leave even the next day. The dorm itself was dark and
depressing. The worst feature of this hostel is its
showers, which are unisex and located in a cement pit in
the basement. The lights are motion sensitive, with the
motion detector aimed at the door. Both mornings I
stayed here, the light turned off midshower, leaving me
unable to find my towel and get dressed in this dark,
spooky pit. These sensors are also present in the
bathroom. The only upside of this hostel is its
location, extremely cheap price and its friendly staff,
who are helpful and even do your laundry for you at a
good price. |
