This has to be the worst hostel i have ever stayed in. the rooms are
dirty and there NO TOILETS in the rooms and NO HOT WATER. I was meant to stay
for 10 days and left after 3. they wouldn't give me a refund for the nights I
wasn't there. and they never sent anyone up to fixed the hot water. p.s the
shower was so weak and cold.

Near to city center but need to take a bus (No.6 or 16) from the
train station. Breakfast not included. Clean beds but the room on the ground
floor is leaking (luckily not on any of the beds), there's a sink in the room.
We used the showers (good hot showers) and toilets on the first floor. However,
there's a clean toilet on the ground floor as well. You just need to walk
further (after the WC for the bar). No lockers.

Fairly clean and spacious, staff were helpful. Breakfast was poor and
don't book downstairs especially in summer, people are passing by non stop. Also
the toilets are shared with the bar. We had to be moved because of a leak and
it was much better for our girls. The hotel next door looks like it will be my
first choice if i go again!

Bauhaus is supposed to be a party hostel, but the rooms
are not noisy at all. The bar is small but is also cheap
(it works as reception, breakfast room and bar). Not a
really party environment, I guess because there is not a
big crowd in winter. I imagine it gets a lot of movement
in summers.
We
got a double room at the hostel, it was a large room
with two beds put together as a king size bed, which was
very comfortable. Very clean. There is also a sink in
the room and hangers for the coats. (No table or chair).
There are showers on the floor (we were on first floor)
only one shower was working, but it was clean and has
two curtains (like a mini dressing room) so you can have
some privacy and your stuff doesn't get soaked. Showers
are push timer type, but water is warm enough (not hot)
for you to have a good bath, just push it again before
water stop running. There are also showers downstairs,
toilets are in that "bathing room" as well, this is the
only thing I didn't like because it was always hot and
vapor. I think these are the showers that get so bad
reviews because they look nasty, but I never used them.
However, toilets are not very clean either.
After all I liked Bauhaus because it is very cheap, it
is easily reached by bus from train station and you are
also close to all Brugges must sees. There is also a
supermarket on the same street.
Breakfast is 2.50 euro, is served at the bar and
consists of coffee or tea, boiled eggs and bread with
butter and marmalade.
They have a safe as well, you leave 5 euro deposit or
so.
The budget hotel is next door, but I didn't explore it. |

This wasn't the cleanest place and the bathroom for the
dorms downstairs share with the bar...ask for a room
upstairs.. Also, as an FYI, the management are also the
bartenders..I've stayed in better hostels. |
