Incredible location guarantees a great view and vibe. You're as close to the Castle as you can get without buying a ticket. Good kitchen, cool decorations throughout, clean showers with excellent facilities, and an accommodating staff. Have been there twice and will surely go again.

Wonderful hostel, you can't be wrong about sleeping there! Wonderful staff, clean, nice and big room (you don't get that cattle-car feeling on the largest dormitory), huge kitchen, a wonderful reading-chill-out room and very clean bathroom (they're not sex divided but showers are fully-lockable small-room style with private dressing room). And a superb view of the 2minutes walk magnificent Edi Castle right in front of it!!

This was a really neat looking hostel. Old castle meets fairytale type decorations. People were in and out of the dorm rooms but the location is excellent, literally in the shadow of Edinburgh castle. Grocery in less than 5 min walk, internet access that is affordable, tour group hookups and great staff. Lots of books to read as well if you feel like kicking back. The showers were hot, clean and WATER PRESSURE!!! They also have a take out laundry service - though I didn't use while I was there. There are no lockers, but no one is getting past the front door without a pass and there is a safe at the door. Recommend bringing a sleeping bag to this one, much more comfortable than the blanket provided. Nice kitchen facilities and lots of rooms and space to explore. I'd stay here again with no regrets.
