If staying on a boat sounds exciting, think again. The Clipper is
lacking space, especially in the rooms. They have two smaller than normal bunks
and one sink in a tiny room, you have no chance of personal space or room for
your backpack! There is minimal sound barriers so you can hear everyone
moving/snoring on the boat. The one female and one male shower is more like a
metal box where everything gets wet, even after the tap is turned off. The
caretaker and his family and pets live at the front of the boat but share the
small common area of the boat with the guests. They are friendly but smoke
cigarettes inside a lot. There is no where that you can lock up your gear or
lock your room. On a positive note it is close to the main restaurant/bar
streets of Rotterdam and next to a nice harbour if you like old boats and
marintine. I paid less in Belgium for hostel accomodation and got more for my
money. The Clipper is a ok option if everything else is booked out.
