Disgraceful....I booked 6 months in advance and received a confirmation and was told to reconfirm 2 days before arrival. Fortunately I reconfirmed 2 weeks before and they had double booked and cancelled my booking. They did not even bother to contact me to let me know.

Was one of the most fun places I've stayed. Bar down stairs was great. Dorm was not too bad considering it contained about 30 beds (though I was the rude/drunk one that came home at 4 am). When I was there it was a very fun and social hostel.

While entering the dorm area might be closed tightly; access to the safe has to be improved. They don't keep track of who has what in there. If you ask to them to open it, they will without checking whether you have something in there or not. I could have easily grabbed somebody else's valuables and they wouldn't have known. Some of the staff had an attitude, and some were just great. They lost my reservation and I ended up stuck in a corner in the big 36 dorm, which sucked the fat one. The bar was alright. Movies and lots of ample spaces to lounge around. Location was good, however. Clean facilites, but the pay phone didn't work, and most of the time, two of the three computers were "faulty". The first glance could be misleading. You walk downstairs from street level to a dark bar. This is the common room, and reception is in one of the corners. It's quite lively in the evening, but the party disperses fairly early. Night birds may find it difficult to party in this area. There is a wide choice of rooms, from studios for long-term stays to dormitories ranging from 4-beds to a giant 36-bed room. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm on first floor. It was one of the most spacious hostel rooms I recall, and even had a closet! The noise from the bar downstairs didn't bother me when I went to bed early. The shower and toilet were shared by 2 such rooms, IE maximum 8 people. You needed 2 keys to get to your room - one for the floor and one for the room, so security is not a problem. The hostel is in a residential area (Zizkov) close to the city center. Several restaurants and bars around, and a store at a 24-hours gas station nearby as well. Everything is cheap. I never paid more than 5$ for a meal in the Italian restaurant across the street.
