Personally I can't praise this place enough. For the fantastic price
of 15 euros per night it is one of the most comfortable homely places I have
ever stayed. The rooms have a wonderful view of the Alps and Frau und Herr
Lindner are very friendly. Even the location which means you have to walk up a
steep hill is endeering. Well worth a visit!

It was quite difficult to find but when we find, we feel so happy.
We stay in a big room for 5 of us together. The bed is so soft and big and
pretty. You could see the whole city from the balcony. In the room, also have
the wardrobe for hanging the clothes and the sink for brush your teeth. What I
like most is the atmosphere of the house. We had breakfast in the kitchen and
play with their kids!! The cat also very nice. You can look at some
information about travel here too cos others guest left so many brochures. It
was about 4 kms from the city of Salzburg.
I am very impress with this place.
we went at low season. The room was 16 euros per person included breakfast, bed
sheets, towels. |

Wonderful place; I would love to have stayed longer. The location
can be a bit difficult, but if you can figure out the public bus system and
don't mind a short hike up the side of a very steep mountain, the reward is
well worth the effort. The view is absolutely amazing, with the new city in the
foreground and part of the old city in the background, the Alps towering in the
distance.
The beds are comfortable, and as another reviewer said, bathroom times never
seem to conflict despite the fact that all four rooms may be filled. Frau
Lindner is very friendly, and breakfast is provided in the kitchen in the
morning, or on a small deck if you like. I found it far more pleasant to be a
guest in someone's house than to be a number in a crowded dorm. All the guests
were polite and considerate of one another, and Frau Lindner is conscientious
about who she puts in the same room, so I made fast friends with the other
three girls in mine.
The price is absolutely fantastic, still only 15 Euros in July 2003 (bad
exchange rate, but still a great price).
This hostel comes highly recommended.

Review:
This hostel (guest house) is the private home of the
Lindner family. It is one of several guest houses up on
a cul-de-sac just outside of Salzburg.
There are 4 rooms total for guests, 1 bathroom and 1
bath/shower room. The shower was hot but it had an odd
overflow thing in the middle of the bathroom floor--I
just got used to it. Strangely, there were about 8 other
people staying in the dorm-style rooms but we never had
conflicting bathroom or shower times. The beds were very
comfortable--huge square feather pillows which were
fabulous.
The price could not be beat--it was 15 euros per person
in November of 2002. Of course that was when the euro
was at the same value as the dollar, so it was about
US$16 per night. Breakfast is included--juice, tea,
coffee, breads and cereal.
Frau and Heir Lindner were very helpful at breakfast
talking with us about routes to take when driving down
to Italy. They also had many guide books in the kitchen
that they let us borrow during our stay--it was really
nice.
Other perks: feels like someone's home, no curfew, no
smoking, not crowded, quiet safe neighborhood with
parking, cute friendly cat named "Fruh" running around.
