We actually stayed at both the Los Amigos Sol and Opera. Sol is smaller and newer (currently remodeling when we were there). Both hostels are colorful and clean, but tend to be loud late into the night. Probably the loudest hostel we stayed at. One guy summed it up when he said it seemed like someone was coming into the room every hour. Staff was friendly, but a little unorganized.

Very comfy beds, easy access to everything. I agree with all the goods things being said about this place.

Very nice hostel with very friendly and helpful people and very well located. Clean rooms, nice and clean showers. The social room is also inviting and lively. I would recommend this to any one visiting Madrid.

Los Amigos is in a very central location, easily accessible by Metro. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are fair, the bathrooms are clean and roomy, there's a kitchen and a decent common room. At 15 euros a night, I would gladly stay there again.
