Review:
The
Salmon Weir is probably my favourite hostel ever. It
wouldn't be most people's cup of tea since it's not
stocked with amenities, but I love it because it's
small, simple, and I met loads of great people here. I
wouldn't recommend it to people just passing through,
but if you're in Galway on a working visa, or plan to
stay awhile, this is the place to be. The dorms are
cramped and the kitchen can get really busy, but it
seems like people who stay here bond somehow, making it
a great place for long-termers. Good location as well in
Wood Quay, just the right distance from the town centre,
and with a nice lake right behind it. My home away from
home! |
