This was the first hostel I stayed in and still one of my favorites. Although it is not the cleanest of all the hostels, it is in a great location and the staff is awesome! This hostel had one of the best hostel bars - which is very important for a solo traveler for myself. It was very easy to meet people.

This is a great hostel on a safe street right near the heart of the city. People (both staff and guests) were some of the friendliest we encountered during our month-long trip. Great and cheap bar and common area (best music we encountered!) that is also frequented by locals. Rooms were clean, albeit smallish, but colorful and well-decorated. Only downside was that the showers and bathrooms, though clean, are located far away from the rooms and showers require you to pull a chain while bathing.

This hostel is fine to sleep in. The rooms are painted by a local artist and there is a kitchen with a grocery store across the street which is great. The cleanliness of the bathroom might leave a little to be desired, but I think they might be renovating them. There isn't much of an atmosphere though.

Other than the spiral staircase I didn't mind this place. We had a 4 bed room with shower in our room which was clean enough but nothing special. You had to buy breakfast but there's a store right across the street. Good social atmosphere.

It took me awhile to find this hostel... it's quite a hike from the train station, especially in the rain! The kitchen is super small, but there's a nice big bar to make up for that. It's a fairly easy place to socialize in due to the long tables that you have to share. The bunkbeds are super high and I actually had to sort of jump down onto the window sill to get off of mine. I thought I was going to crash through the window a few times. I don't know what I would have done if my bed was in the middle of the dorm. There were about 12 beds in it. The spiral staircase is a bit hard to negotiate with your backpack, but once you get settled, you'll have a good time. Make sure to buy one of the sample cards which lets you taste 5 different types of beer for a pretty cheap price. Had a fun time. The pull-cord showers are a bit dodgy.
