This was a few years back, but still, this was _the_ worst hostel
I've ever stayed in.
First off, when we got there they charged us a higher rate than what they had
quoted when we booked the room by e-mail.
Didn't get a night's sleep as there was a club downstairs, and drunks shouting
outside when the club closed.
One morning there was literally a rain of shit from the roof of the breakfast
room. After that, the smell kind of lingered. And there was no breakfast to
speak of. They were out of everything by the time we got there, about 15 min.
after the breakfastroom opened.
Don't go to St Christophers. They suck, big time. Only positive thing about the
place was that there was a nice cafe nearby where you could get a decent latte
and some actual _food_.

This hostel was right above a pub, but even with a room
that faced the road, there wasn't much noise. The bunks
were comfy and clean. The shower stall is a bit small,
and pushbutton type. BUT- the shower/toilet room only
accommodates one person at a time, so it's more
private-and it has a lock! There is a common room for
hostel guests only. It's a bit Spartan, but has several
couches and a T.V. I did not notice any lockers-
apparently people just dump their bags at the other
hostel 1/2 block away (this is where one registers and
also where the breakfast is served) and the packs are
monitored by camera. I just left mine by my bunk. Access
to the rooms and hostel is by keycard. |
