I stayed in this hostel for two nights and I only wish it had been more! The location was good, in walking distance of most places and near to a tram stop, it was clean and tidy and the rooms were spacious. The lockers by the beds were big but i prefered to pay for the lockers downstairs. The wash facilities were good and the staff at the hostel were really friendly and welcoming as were most people in Amsterdam. The hostel is on the door step of a beautiful tree filled park and the hostel itself is bright and cheerful and feels so safe and cosy. i want to go back! right now...:)

I went to Amsterdam with my college. The hostel as we approached it looked very nice and it was a big building. When we entered I was a bit disappointed it looked all right but there was no welcome from any one and we were very upset with our rooms there was food in the cupboards from the last people and the sheets that were supposed to be clean were far from it. Breakfast was very disappointing too all there seemed to be was ham and cheese as I am a vegetarian and don't like cheese I had to wait till dinner time to eat. The bar was very good we enjoyed most nights in there and was able to mix with people from other countries. The area around the hostel is great with many tourist attractions close by.

The location is a little out of the way from the Red Light but it is worth the walk! Hey Amsterdam is beautiful! Or just jump on tram number 2 from central station to Leidseplein and it's a 5 min walk! Much cleaner than the Flying pig and provides more amenities. It's a 5min walk to the VanGhogh museum and the park is right out the front door. The staff in the bar are excellent and will recommend the best places in town to chat and smoke. Staff are excellent all around and very helpful. Showers are hot, clean and private- even in the dorms! Lockers are large, fit my 70L pack with room to spare! The laundry machines include their own soap and the dryers work the first time through! This hostel may be 3 or 4 Euro more per night, but it is well worth the cost!! I strongly recommend this hostel when staying in Amsterdam it was one of the best experiences I had. They also have internet access, though easyinternet is still the cheaper place to go. The crowd is somewhat younger but there is still a lot of diversity and good times to be had by all. Pack safe, and happy travels!

Wow, what a great place! The rooms are clean and spacious, the location is very good (near a major social center and tram stops), the social life is good with a nightly happy hour. Best of all, the staff is extremely friendly and amazingly helpful. I stayed 5 nights at this hostel and would have loved to stay longer. I highly recommend it.

While clean and neat I found this place impersonal and devoid of personality. It was factory-like and processed it's guests like factory workers. The hostel also caters for large school groups. The social area wasn't social at all. I moved to the Flying Pig after 1 nights stay and was glad I did so.

Excellent location. Very large hostel with accommodation for about 400 people. Very clean and safe. Rooms quite spacious. Bathrooms in rooms. Good heating. Laundry and lockers available. Bar and restaurant at hostel (with good food), several internet terminals. Staff very friendly and helpful. Probably the best hostel I've stayed in. Try and book before arrival as it fills up quickly - esp. on w'ends.

Private shower rooms, bathrooms for each dorm. Very efficient and clean. Just watch out for the big school groups!
